Default Coruba vs. Myer's Dark

I've got Appleton 12 for when I want some good dark Jamaican rum. But I wanted to pick up a less costly bottle to use as well.

Anyone have any thoughts on Coruba vs. Myer's?

Coruba is a Wray & Nephew product while Myers's is a Diageo product. Coruba was recently reformulated to have a bit more flavor than their old blend.

Would you recommend the Coruba?

Coruba was the Jamaican side of my mai tais for a stretch. Yes, I would give it a shot. Lately, it's usually Appleton 12.

Ed, I did not know that the newer version was different than the old. I haven't finished off my old stock yet so I have not bothered to open one of the new bottles.

Thanks! That gives me a littlle mini project for the weekend - taste compare these two versions of Coruba. I liked the old bottle design better than the new one, so I stocked up (stupid?) when I saw the new package.

By coincidence, I made a Coruba (old bottling) daiquiri last weekend. It was
in the middling range of good, nothing to write home about, but certainly drinkable.

I tend to avoid Myer's.

Thanks Jack. That's very helpful. Maybe I'll pick up a bottle today.

I bought a bottle of Coruba yesterday. Only $13 for a liter, so I wasn't risking much.
