Rum lover from South Florida
Hello everyone, hope all is well. I have always greatly enjoyed rum, my favorite spirit yet, I have found it very difficult to find good information on how it's made and the rules of making rum. I'm glad to be on this form and hope to contribute as a member and I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you as well.

Hello from Dutch land
Hello people
My introduction to rum has been very recent( last 2-3yrs) from being a scotch drinker. Rum for me was always Rum and Cola until I visited some of the festivals and learnt more bout Rum. I thoroughly appreciate the complexity and history that some distilleries have.
Hoping to learn more from the forum!
My current favs are:-
Ron Abuelo 12 Años
Angostura Gran Anejo 7 YO
Santa Teresa 1796
Diplomatico
Ron zacapa solera 23

Hello everyone I have been enjoying rum for years on and off but recently
I have truly fallen in love with it iving in New Jersey.. I love to sip rum when relaxing.
I have a lot to learn about it, other than the fact that the flavor is wonderful.
I am looking forward to learning more and chatting with other rum lovers.
Cheers to all.

Introduction
Sawasdee krub. I am a collector from Thailand. I have only been introduced to fine rum and spirits in the past year, so i still have a lot to learn. I am learning more about Caroni, Hampden, Neisson and other fine rum.

Las Vegas Rum Enthusiast
And budding collector - of the "affordable" stuff.
Looking for others in the area. Wanted to start a "club" that meets semi-frequently, or at least exchange rums/samples - in short: share, and advocate for, the experience of rum; and increase access to, while sharing/defraying the cost of broadening the rum landscape.
Sounds wordy/high brow haha but that's what I'm here for. I'll probably participate mostly in the rum-review side of the forum.
You can check out my Instagram (same username) if that's your sort of thing. Otherwise, see you around.
Oh, and if your in the Vegas area and interested in the club idea, PM me!

Las Vegas rum enthusiast, and new guy around here!
Wanted to find a community online where I might be able to find, or build, a local community here in Vegas to start a rum-club/exchange to share our collections, knowledge, etc.
On here I will probably add mostly to rum reviews - which I do occasionally.
Also have an instagram account with the same username (@RumMerchant) if you're into that sort of thing .

Suggestions for smooth, buttery, sweet sipping rums
Same as others here, I'm interested in suggestions for new rums to try. I like smooth, slightly sweet, buttery.
As well as sipping rums, I'm looking for ideas for other liquors to mix with rums in simple cocktails, simple cocktail recipes, etc.
So far, my collection in order of preference:
El Dorado 21 Year
El Dorado 12 Year
Ron Zacapa Solero 23
Plantation 20th Anniversary Barbados
Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Year
Pusser's Navy 15 Year
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva
Zaya 12 (don't like or recommend)
I had Pusser's Navy Blue Label and Kirk & Sweeney 12 Year also but didn't like either much.

Touring a Distillery
I am a frequent visitor to the Bahamas - generally through Nassau on a cruise ship. On each visit, I return with not less than 3 cases of Ricardo Coconut Rum. On one visit, I brought back six cases. I will be visiting again the end of March, 2018 this time in Freeport. I understand the distillery for Ricardo Coconut Rum is in Freeport. Does anyone know their address and whether they provide tours. To me, this would almost be like a visit to Mecca. Thanks
