Default Gidday, good to be here

Greetings to Ed and all fellow members. I hail from the Australian bush in an area near Sydney called Bucketty. This place is famous only for growing sandstone rocks :-) or the occasional bushfire. But there's a guy in the hills nearby operating an illicit still who claims to produce "rum". Never tried it but probably can't be any worse than Bundaberg rum from North Queensland - one of the planet's worst-tasting spirits (think unsweetened bubblegum), yet a staple for tens of thousands of Aussie drinkers ("Giz a Bundy n' coke mate").
I love light bodied, aged rums and have been fortunate enough to have savoured many in their home lands of Panama, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Brazil. Just returned from a month in Spain where I was amazed by the vast range of rums available everywhere and the immense popularity that rum has achieved - especially as a cocktail mix among young people - and where a free-poured aged rum Mojito can cost you as little as US$5.
Salut!
