I mix rum a bit more in the hotter months, although I don't mix rum all that much,..... but it's when I'm more apt to take a crack at it. Year round though, it's usually a beer chased with a rum sipper,...... or is it the other way around???..... I've lost track.

Phew, this a tough one. Being a fact, that I'm into this wonderful spirit just for like 4-6 months I can't really tell. But like said before, I think there is none in particular. Winter should be more for the heavier bodied rums and summer for cocktails and light rums, but what the heck... I think I don't even care about it, coz I just can't get enough ... am I right or am I right?

Default Season of the Witch Punch

As lit pumpkins shrivel & cower on porches in the shadows of little ghosts & gobblins, I think a warm rum drink hits the spot. I did a tasting this past weekend in NYC, featuring Clement Rhum's Harvest Punch: 2 gallons of good fresh unpasteurized apple cider, 1 bottle of Clement VSOP, 1 bottle of Clement Creole Shrubb, 4 ginger beers, Canne Sirop to taste, 4 quartered apples, 4 quartered oranges, mulling spices: nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, orange peel, cloves & star anise, 12 cinnamon sticks. Warm do not boil in large pot for one hour, strain into thermal carafes. This should keep a party of 12 adults warm, happy and quite social for an evening of Trick or Treat inside or out.

Default All Year

For me there is really no season. Just the way I drink it. Summer and Spring I mix them. Fall and Winter usually just Neat or with a couple of cubes of ice.

When DON'T I drink rum? Summer is when I'm more prone to beer thirsts, but slack way off in the winter, almost not touching the stuff. However with rum I am always in the mood. Perhaps since I don't drink as much beer in the winter, it would seem I drink more cocktails instead. On the other hand, more and more I prefer cocktails over beer, and if another spirit does not out-dazzle my craving otherwise, the cocktails will be rum based. On top of that, I enjoy Tiki drinks, so I'm half way reaching for a rum bottle anyway by that tendency alone (acknowledging not all Tiki drinks are made with rum).

Pretty much from noon to 3 am (on a good day).

My rumming knows no season, though like some here, I drink neat much more during the fall and winter.

I concur, that's a much better rum-drinking season than December 31st to January 1st.

I find there's a season for rum in stores.... When they have more new offerings and more selection, at least here in Montreal they do. It always starts in the spring time.

Although im like most people here i drink rum all year around
