Im glad this poll came up, its year round for me as well as edge. I find different times of the year are more prevalent for different rum drinks.

Fall-dark n stormy, and cider with mt. gay nutmeg and some maple syrup
Winter-sippers, also some soda mixers.
spring-grog, ti punch
summer-cuba libre, corn'n'oil, sippers

Well in The Bahamas (like Hank said) there are no real seasons. With the exception of a cold spell in January the weather is generally warm and sunny. I will however confess that during the heat of summer when I'm on my boat I prefer to consumer a couple thirst quenching "English Lemonades" Gin/Tonic and lemon or key lime. I also note that because summer is generally Bar B Q season, mojitoes and other cocktails become a big part of the "season".

For the rest of the year its rum and more rum. I am a RUM Man.

Good Question....Tis the season after all...

I dont have a high season for rum.....its always in season. Alright ill admit it... i LOVE a great pina coloda in the summer.....but i will still stay with my rum straight up...all year long.

I would think that the opinion of a rum "season" is coming from a non premium rum drinker.....more people will drink a cool rum drink in know...chunk of pineapple and a cherry on a smoothies....

most people will think "hot butter rum" in the winter ....and that's not a very sexy it goes by the wayside....
Why is the Rum Gone?.....

Years back, I think It was was on the Howdy Doody show, there was a charactor, a female Indian princess with a long braid and a feather. (Older guys tell me if i am wrong).
Her name was "Summerfall Winterspring"

I think I'll use her as my answer here.

Baseball season is definitely more beer-centered, so I *guess* winter & fall is heavier for me wrt rum. But I don't really deal too often with absolutes.

What a peculiar notion; a rum season.

Another vote for all year round

I drink rum year round and never thought of it as seasonal. However, now that I live in a colder climate, I must confess that I probably lean slightly more toward rum cocktails in the warmer seasons. That said, there are the obligatory seasonal rum drinks that are enjoyed at wintertime.
