Last night was rum punch and Flor de Cana 18. Tonight will be Ron Matusalem Gran Reserva, which I have not had in too long. I also plan on drinking a little Ron Botran 12 year. Of course, it is still early. We'll see what happens.

Ron Abuelo 7 Años Reserva Superior,
Just got a bottle of this in last week and have been waiting to pop it's cork and sample it. I have to say that so far it has a very interesting bouqet. I can definately taste that it has been aged in whisky and bourbon barrels very strong bouqet and first taste. The after taste leaves a very smooth but warm sensation on your tongue and down your throat. You can taste a good hint of bourbon and then the rum....smoky, vanilla and a little hint of toffee but can't quite pick up the baked fruity finish.

So far I have to say I am loven it and glad I finally tracked a bottle down of this elusive rum from Panama.

Tonight it is Barbancourt Blanco with a twist of pink grapefruit and a splash of seltzer water....awesome!!!!

I'm fortunate enough to have the makings of a ti punch with me in Texas. Hopefully by the end of the year, the people of this great state will be able to buy this from one of their favorite liquor stores. But I've been hoping that for four years.
