I really love the ED, and enjoy the Single Barrell, although this one can change a little from batch to batch. I am mediocre towards the Blackstrap,
and the Cruzan 2's are high quality mixers. The light makes a pretty good daquiri.

It's different. I could see it in cocktails, I guess. It's got it's own rhythm, certainly.

Sipping on a couple of fingers of 1796 (corrected from last night's slip), it's hard to see making the switch to Black Strap as a permanent one. This is definitly strapped, as in powerful taste of molasses. What's the catch phrase here? Oh yeah; The research continues!

Cant really compare Black Strap to 1794 though. Thats like comparing apples and a nice pan roasted filet.

Is that Santa Teresa 1796 you're referring to?

Yes, Ed, Santa Teresa 1796; a slip of the brain subtracted two, but then, I was on my second glass....not enjoying with moderation, but enjoying nontheless!

To further clarify, I was speaking somewhat tongue in cheek. What I meant to imply is that I don't see myself replacing my favored rums with Black Strap on any regular basis. I managed to make a mess of the thought, but I hope you get my point. I will crawl back to my lair now!

Cruzan Blackstrap could certainly compete for BEST in CLASS and if the competition was for Tiki drink components, it might even win BEST in SHOW depending on the judges and the other rums entered.

Cruzan Black Strap makes the most flavorful pina colada I've ever tasted.

I like the Estate Diamond a lot, it's a fine blend, but I find the Single Barrel to be more unique compared to other rums.

I wonder how the Cruzan blackstrap compares to my Jamaican Black? which is like liquid molasses.

Look below at what I found puttering around the forum! Heheh! A perfect foil to my Santa Teresa 1794! Only my mistake was sadly much clumsier....and not simply a math error

I thought there was huge molasses flavor, and I can see how it makes a tasty topper or addition to cocktails. For sipping, it seemed a bit one dimensional to me though. I'm just not much of a mixologist....yet!
