Default rum questions

My local liquor store website has a few odd bottles floating around of something called Utkins "fairtrade" rum. Does anyone have any experience with this. I did a search on google and nuthing much came up. Made in uruguay or something an bottled by a company in the UK. I cannot even tell from the description if it is white or dark.

Also a buddy of mine has a friend that came back from a cruise and by all accounts came back with an appleton white rum that was aged. I dont know of such a product, anyone have any leads on such an animal?

mammel,

I could be quite wrong (nothing new there)... but I thought Appleton's regular white standard rum is "aged"... (like La Flor's and Matusalem's)?

It is, it has been aged for up to two years in oak barrels and then charcoal filtered.
