Zacapa XO vs El Dorado 21 year?
I know these rums might not be anything alike but here is my situation. I am in Winnipeg and thus cannot get either of these locally.
I love the Zacapa 15 and 23 year rums and love the El Dorado 12 and 15 year olds.
I am down in Florida every so often and usually get a bottle to take back home.
These 2 rums are close in price. Around $85 for the ElD 21 and around $99 for the Zacapa XO in Florida so disregard price in this poll.
Next time in Florida I will buy one of these. And then the next year I will probably get the other one. So which one should I try first?

21 without question...it has more body and complexity and is a shade less sweet. The XO doesn't even come close. But that's just my opinion.

You can get the ED21 at LCBO, which is not that far away from Winnipeg, so I would go for the Zacapa XO. While in the States, if you can get rum delivered to your location, Shopper's Vineyard from New Jersey sells it at 54.99.
These are two completely different rums, so it's a matter of taste. They are both excellent.

Hello everyone!
We represent El Dorado here in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. At MLCC Liquor Marts we carry the Spiced Rum, 5 Year Old, 12 Year Old, and am pleased to announce...now the 21 Year Old El Dorado!
It has arrived and is trickling into stores this week. If your local Liquor Mart does not carry it yet, please feel free to ask for it, they will gladly bring it in for you. We are doing our best to assure that it is in as many stores as possible.
Maybe the best part...the price. We are happy to tell you that it is $106.98! This compares well against the likes of Appleton's 21 at $150. It's also a great price considering the Florida price quite mentioned above at $85.
Anyway, thanks for your love these fantastic Rums and if you haven't already, be sure to give one of them a try soon!
El Dorado 21 Year Old Rum
Code: 13771
Price: $106.98
Enjoy!!
Cheers!

If You prefer a rather sweet rum, go for the Zacapa XO, if not, take the ED21. Whichever You choose, You can´t go wrong with either one, both are excellent.
