Question "Old Demerara Rum"

Recently bought a bottle of old demerara rum on ebay!
But i have only got limited info about it- a not to good pictures and i was told it was imported to Italy between 1966-1970 from Gio. Buton.

Please send me any form of feedback if there is anyone who can recognize it, or tell me something about it.

Welcome to the for-rums. I can't read the label but it looks like that is a private label bottled for the Italian market. It looks like, from the liquid level, that the closure hasn't been compromised so I'd be tempted to drink it and see what it's like.

Few ideas about the rum below? evaporation has started, 1/2"? sealed taxstripe. Pre castro time, around 1927-36 im guessing.

For starters, the Cuban Rum was bottled for export or private label and not for sale in Cuba. The label says 'Rum' and not 'Ron' as it would in a Spanish country.
The Arechabala Distillery is well known and reputable. I see now that it was imported by a NY importer. The Williams company no longer exists to my knowledge.

It is interesting that that one is Havana Club Brand and not just 'Havana Club.'
