I gave it to someone the other day who didn't really like it much. Indignation was only the start of my reaction

If everyone loved ED15 as we do, then there wouldn't be enough to go around.

We tasted ED21 for the first time two days ago, with ED12 and ED15. It was agreed among the three tasters that all were wonderful rums, but ED21 is now at the top of my group of favorite rums.

ED15 never disappoints, but the 21 has greater complexity and a longer, more interesting finish. ED21, even at twice the price of the 15, is still a contender in the lb. for lb. competition. If we had to choose just one (glad we don't ), it would be ED21.

Glad to hear you feel this way, Michael.

I'm generally in the minority and ED21 is dismissed. I had a friend offer to trade bottles of the 21 for bottles of the 12. Although I thought he was borderline eligible for SSI (and not for age related requirements) ...he's lucky I had not bottles of the 12 year on hand at that time!!

I hope I don't sound like some tasting snob, cause I'm far from a qualified palate but I think the 21 tends to miss the mark with those that don't have a lot of time on their hands and want to taste straight up rum (up front) right now - not later. I admit the 21 hasn't the zing that the 12 has (and old 15 had). Definitely requires a slow and easy approach.

I thank you for this post! I was in the area and picked up a bottle. Have to say that it was a treat doing business with this establishment. Very knowledgeble staff indeed!

I also drooled over the British Royal Navy Imperial Rum. Perhaps when I turn 50...
