Pyrat Pistol: old versus new
I enjoy Pyrat Pistol and have purchased several bottles. I have seen a different packaging in the past and finally picked up one of these bottles. I have yet to do a taste comparison and want to hear from those who have tried both.
The bottles I see most often have the hoti emblem on the front label, PYRAT in big letters underneath, RUM under that, and then Pistol in white font in a little orange box. The lower sticker says it was imported by Patron Spirits Company in Las Vegas.
The different bottle does not have the hoti emblem on the label, has PYRAT, RUM, and then "PISTOL" in quotes. It also has the hoti figure embossed in the middle of the label. Additionally, it has a chinese symbol at the bottom of the lable. The lower label says it was imported by SMS, LTD in Las Vegas.
So, is there any difference in product besides labeling? If so, is one of these an older bottling? If that is the case, I can't help wondering if the old Pistol is better than the new Pistol in the same way the old XO is better than the new XO.
What do you think?
