2 bottles of Ron Zacapa XO. Great price of $79 a bottle from WCL Wines in New Jersey.

Decent quality rum is hard to find in these parts, so imagine my surprise when I found a local website selling RL Seale's 10.

Great pure purchases Alan. I imagine you will enjoy these greatly.

I recently bought a bottle of Jamaican rum laid down in 1990 then bottled late 2014-15. Its called Smooth Ambler Revelation rum. An interesting bottle indeed. Said to be free of any alteration at all. Bottled at 49.5% ABV. At around 70.00 a bottle this is a decent buy.

Mamajuana, very nice. I haven't had the pleasure yet but have been enjoying their Old Scout bourbon quite a bit. The folks at Smooth Ambler are great. Glad to see them bottling an excellent rum

I'm curious to know how the Doorly's XO compares to RL Seale's.

Default What's Your Most Recent Purchase?

Speaking of the 10 yr old RL Seale, on the nose I get more cane syrup like aromas and notice the cane on the palate. This is toned down a little on the Doorly's, I suspect due to the 2nd maturation in Oloroso sherry casks. Both are hands down fabulous rums at a surprisingly low price point. The Doorly's at $15/750ml can't be beat beat price wise. I paid $22 for the RL Seale which for a ten year old unadulterated rum is a steal. Both are a great bargain considering other spirits and other rums.

Although the Real McCoys are a bit higher price wise I found them both fabulous pure rums and salute Bailey and his team for making such high quality pure rums at a reasonable price point. I'm a fan
