A Pyrat XO and coke followed by a Flor de Cana Grand Reserve Old Fashioned; I think I may have got these rums backwards for the cocktails. Oh well, still delicious.

I went to a birthday party last Saturday where we set up a pretty good rum flight.

The first rum was a bottle of Millonario from Peru that I opened a few weeks ago, nice sweet rum, we finished the bottle.

Then it was Zacapa 23, which is very popular with less experienced drinkers because of it's very sweet side. I like it a lot but I prefer stronger and more complex rums.

The third rum was Santa Teresa 1796, one of my fave. Fit more my type of rum.

The fourth bottle was a Renegade Panama 1997 that was already opened. Very good rum, hard to find. That bottle was gone as well.

The fifth bottle was a Mount Gay XO, that I didn't drink for a while. A very good Bajan rum, I enjoyed it even more than expected.

The last bottle was a Plantation Guadeloupe 1998 Single Cask. An incredible agricole.

Finally got my hands on a bottle of Ron del Barrilito 3 Star from a friend returning from a trip to Rincon, Puerto Rico. Enjoying a glass with a couple of ice cubes. Its a fine sipper for sure.

Appleton Blenders' Legacy...one of the best rums I've had. If the finish was a bit longer...it would be 100% perfect.

Found Santa Teresita claro for about $12. Never saw it before. Had a great Cuba libre. Might make some mojitos tonight. Definitely a great white rum. Almost yellowish color to it and not too bad on its own.

Default Tonight's drink was....

Pina Coladas made with Flor de Cana Extra Dry 4 Years. I also added a measure of El Dorado 15 just to give a little character and color to the drinks.

Normally I sip Rum, Scotch, Rye or Bourbon but we are gearing up for our upcomming trip to Mexico so I've been mixing rum drinks and margaritas lately. It's all good.
