MRDC "Sorghrum"

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the board. I have been getting into craft cocktails and particularly rums to accompany my cigar hobby. Knowing this my dad picked me up a couple of Mississippi River Distillery Companies Sorghum Rum for my Birthday. I intend to give it a shot tomorrow. I'll likely try it with a cube of ice and experiment with a cocktail or two. I thought I'd post to inform anyone in the Illinois/Iowa area of the offering, but more importantly I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with Sorghum rums from any other distilleries?

Rum is made from sugar cane, so this blend of sorghum and rum is a flavored rum. Over the past few years I've been approached by a number of people who wanted me to validate spirits made from sorghum as rum. So if you can make rum from sorghum, why not make it from sweet potatoes?

I don't want to cast dispersions on Mississippi River Distilling, but don't confuse this with domestic rum. And if you read the label it doesn't say 'Rum'.
