Rum is made from sugar cane, so this blend of sorghum and rum is a flavored rum. Over the past few years I've been approached by a number of people who wanted me to validate spirits made from sorghum as rum. So if you can make rum from sorghum, why not make it from sweet potatoes?
I don't want to cast dispersions on Mississippi River Distilling, but don't confuse this with domestic rum. And if you read the label it doesn't say 'Rum'.
