Default No stranger to the noble spirit.

I am Jason, from Philadelphia. My love of rum began recently in 2005, but since I have developed quite an appetite for the stuff. I frequent Rum Bar in Philadelphia, where they have a truly excellent selection, and have even completed my Rum Passport.

I look forward to spirited (no pun intended) discussion about rum. Some of my favorites include Appleton (V/X and 21 year), Angostura 1824, Zaya Gran Reserva, and especially Ron Zacapa Centenario.

Welcome to the forums gunthmonster. I was contacted last week about improving the rum selection in your state. I hope I can help them out.
You're lucky to have Rum Bar in your city.

Default Welcome

You found the place if, indeed, you are interested in rum. You will find that some rums are like a clarion blast, while others gently whisper.

Default Rum selection

@ Edward Hamilton:
I hope indeed that your efforts to expand the rum selection in PA are successful, state owned "Wine and Spirits" are woefully understocked with the spirit of our interest.

Welcome to the for-rum Jason. Nice to have a local Rum Bar, Adam is a hoot to hang with too.

Default Let's Go FLYERS!

Welcome to the forum fellow Philadelphian!

The selection in PA is limited. Bars like Adam's and Cuba Libre allow you to do some exploring. From a retail perspective, you have better luck if you go to a "premium" state store...but it still has room for improvement. You can find some good stuff through PA's special order system. Check it out.

However, the one great thing about our city is that it is close to "other places", like NJ and DE, where the selection is more bountiful!

Ed - we wish you luck in helping us out.
