Default Another long time listener 1st time caller

Hi. I made it a lifestyle change a couple years ago to take up the hobby of researching cocktails, and along the way learned I didn't just like liked me as well. So most of my hunting aimed towards the variations and complexities of rum. I came across the Ministry of Rum over a year ago and have read and studied, and am grateful for all the advice, opinions and shared knowledge for so many people. After gathering a small collection and keeping record of various recipes, I am just now beginning to appreciate what most human beings never knew existed - not only are there more than 3 rums to buy (you all know what I'm talking about: Bacardi, Captain Morgan & Malibu). However, that does not mean I have thrown out my Bacardi since it still has its place. I look forward to learning more, and trying new things. And of course I am dying to try Lemon Hart for the first time, waiting...

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.

I appreciate it. As for a place for all rums, I've taken great pleasure in a Don the Beachcomber recipe book, you know I'm sure the Tropical Drinks one. Rums listed inside are either impossible to find, or some difficult. All the same, some are very easy, and a couple I am surprised listed amongst the recipes. However, I feel good about keeping an open mind, and do not mind stooping to the bottom shelf in order to make a precise drink, and what may turn out closer towards the original taste Mr. Beach aimed.
