The preciosa seems really interesting. I have both the regular one and the velha at home and must say they are in another league than the standard #51 and Pitu found in most bars here in Norway.

Is this, or will it be available in the US? I just read a review on it and it sounds great. Expensive? Yes, however many aged spirits fall in the same price category.

Preciosa is available on a limited basis in the US. I'm a bit confused by this one as it was bought by the people that own Sagatiba and though they didn't distill it and it will no longer be available they are marketing it in the US.

Thanks Ed. I've did some preliminary searches and so far nothing has come up. It seems to be widely available in the UK however.

The Sagatiba brand ambassador recently moved to Southern California so there's hope in the US.

Hi Jamie76,

Sagatiba Preciosa is available in the US. It's with Southern Wine & Spirits. If you work in or own a bar, then it's easy to order. If not, it's a bit harder to come by as we have a strict allocation of bottles to each country every year.

I hope that helps.....! Saúde!

I can help clear that up.....

The reason we have it is that the distillate was produced and laid down by the Father of our Master Distiller. The reason that it will, one day, no longer be available is that we only saved/rescued/recovered a finite amount. When it's gone, it's gone!

If you have any more specific questions, I'm very, very happy to answer them.

Cheers Ed

Thank you for the information John. I'm heading to California next week and hope we can meet. In regards to Southern Wine and Spirits, I wish it was as easy as just calling them up and ordering products, but if you're a bar or retail shop owner you may have to make a few phone calls or send John an email and he'll sort it out.

Thanks also for the clarification of where the Preciosa came from. I've heard several different stories about that product but coming the global brand ambassador, I'll take it as the answer I've been looking for.

Hi Ed,

It'd be GREAT to meet up. I have Preciosa open at home for tasting!!! What are you dates? I'm in London 15th - 17th and then in Miami 17th - 23rd and then back here to LA on the 23rd. If that works, let's get something firmed up...
