The Doorly's at $15/750ml can't be beat beat price wise. I paid $22 for the RL Seale which for a ten year old unadulterated rum is a steal. Both are a great bargain considering other spirits and other rums.

Although the Real McCoys are a bit higher price wise I found them both fabulous pure rums and salute Bailey and his team for making such high quality pure rums at a reasonable price point. I'm a fan

I have heavily enjoyed the Real McCoy line. They are excellent rums full of pot still rum and offer and incredibly clean start to finish. I suggest you get the 3 year white also. It is one of my highest rated white rums ever. Very good straight up to show the true potential of a white rum. While more expensive than other foursquare offerings they are amongst the best available from the distillery most likely due to a higher percentage of pot to column still rum. The style is very present on these as is the flavor.

Thanks for the recommendation. I usually shy away from white rums since my idea of a cocktail is maybe the addition of an ice cube.

I had a Painkiller last summer after moving to St Augustine. Finally got the stuff to make my own.

I got a 375ml bottle of Pyrat XO to try as a sipper. But if that fails, lime juice and coke (could not source Mexican coca-cola on short notice).

Hello Powertrip,

Pyrat is a strange rum, like straight rum mixed with Cointreau. I used to love it, now I hate it. To each its own. I'm not sure if it'll be any good with lime, never tried it. It's more a liqueur to me than a rum.

Keep searching!

Ben, thanks! (Seeing your name on a rum forum sets one's mind to Treasure Island).

I tried the XO straight and did indeed like it. The citrus and sweetness that many are not fond of is actually what drew me to it. I am able to sip it with no water or mixer. The plan is to use it as a segue to other sippers and to ween myself so to speak of the need to mix or dilute rum (or any liquor for that matter).

Drove to Maryland and Delaware to pick up some bottles not available in Pennsylvania or that are over priced in PA.

Malteco 15 anos.( maya reserve.)
i,ve comparised the Malteco 15 with Matusalem 15. (neat)
Malteco is the winner in my opinion! more rubust and sweeter then the Matusalem. I recoment the Malteco 15 when you like sweeter rums like
El Dorado and Zacapa.
