Mount Gay Tricentennial
Hi all, I have a bottle of MG Tricentennial and was just wondering what the going rate would be if i were to sell it. It's No 795 out of 3000 bottles produced and is still sealed and in its original presentation box. Any ideas??

In the US it goes for around 350-800 dollars and I've seen it in undisclosed locations in Europe at around 350-400 euros. Personally I would be interested in buying such a bottle.
Can you take pictures of this bottle?

I just came back from St Kitts with a bottle of the Mount Gay Tricenntenial that I was lucky to pick up for US$220 (bottle 260 of 3000). They have a few more bottles left there as well, sitting on the shelf for the next lucky punter to come along. The lady at the counter said the owner had ordered in a lot when it originally come out and then put them in storage and only recently remembered them.
They also have one bottle of the Appleton Estate 30 year old which they are wanting US$300 for (in case anyone is interested).

does anyone have any opinions on this rum, especially given the price - is it worth it...?
...how does it stack up against the other big money rums like ED25 and the Appleton 30?

I picked up a bottle in late January and I'll admit I may be blind...but I can't recall seeing a bottle number on the box or bottle
Can someone tell me where you have it printed on yours? Have a photo you can send me? would love to see it. I'm dying to look again on mine when I get home this coming weekend.

I haven't opened my Appleton 30 yet maybe this year I'm looking forward to trying it compared to several other rums. Still haven't picked up an ED25.

Inside my box was a small "book", about 8 pages. On the first paper page it reads:
"Dear Mount Gay Rum Friend You are currently holding the quintessence Mount Gay Rum. This limited edition is the oldest blend ever elaborated by Mount Gay Distillieries. Only 3000 bottles have been released, of a product, which represents our tribute to the generations of friends, who have enjoyed Mount Gay Rum over the last 300 years. This very special blend is composed of rums coming from 3 exceptional vintages - 1969, 1974 and 1976. I trust you will enjoy savouring it as much as I enjoyed creating it for you. Yours Sincerely" and signed J Edwards Master Blender.
Below that is the number of the bottle which appears to be handwritten with a black pen. On the weekend I will see if I can post some photos.
The rest of the book has some other cool stuff such as tasting notes on the second page.

Looking at my credit card statement it was Ram's Duty Free. The shop was in the cruise ship terminal and was one of the closest to the dock.
