Talking Introduction

Good Afternoon Rum Lovers, I grew up in Trinidad and now live in UK. I grew up with VAT19 and Fernandes Black Label, I lived a stones throw away from the Angostura's factory and always had their Rum for use too. My Aunt owned about 150 acres in Guanapo and used to grow cane, so I have vivid memories of cutting cane and carting to Caroni for distillation. I currently have a major problem, I cannot find real Rum in the UK, I bought some Black Label and some VAT19 from the internet UK distributor and it tasted nothing like the real thing, Any advise is gratefully welcome, Thank you and have a great evening

Just wanted to shoot a quick message, I am fairly new to the world of rum but due to access to Smugglers Cove and Forbidden Island in the Bay Area I have been able to try a increasingly large of rums. Looking forward to trying more!

Talking Hello! I'm Derek!

At age 12 I wanted to be a bartender. I bought a Mr. Boston Bartender Guide. I eventually went on to various other pursuits, yet have found alcohol culture/history to be fascinating! I do deplore misuse of drinking and such effect on families and hope honorable moderation can accompany the pleasures of drink.

I like beer and wine, but especially liquor and especially "neat." I like SILVER (WHITE/LIGHT/CLEAR/CRYSTAL) RUM BEST!!-"NEAT" Yeah, that's part Pirate & part Cossack.

I look forward to learning much more!

sincerely,

Derek

Default Columbus Is My Hero

Just returned from Hispaniola and discovered Brugal Extra Viejo and 1888. Columbus knew where to go! They are great additions to my beloved Zaya.

Default Geoff

Hello all, I am a new member who learned about the Ministry from Ann Vanderhoof's evocative book "An Embarrassment of Mangoes - a Caribbean Interlude" I have enjoyed rum for a long time though I do not consider myself an aficionado. Here in BC Canada I drink Mount Gay usually.
