Does anyone know if St. Vincent made it to Illinois?

Hank, I am not sure if this is anything, but the St. Vincent being sold by BevMo here in CA was "stuck" in the San Francsico Bay area for weeks. I flew up and bought many cases. Now, this week, it has arrived in the Southern California stores and I went and bought more. So, it seems that distribution is really slow for these close-outs.

It's in the state, but maybe not yet in the store listings. I'll post something as soon as I have confirmation.

I just heard from the Illinois distributor that St Vincent Extra Gold Rum will be available in Binny's if it isn't already. I'd check the Clark Street or south loop stores first. Unfortunately their spirits buyer is in Scotland this week perusing and presumably sipping some scotch.

I have tasted the Captain Bligh Label and the new Extra Gold label. There is a slight difference, as there can be from batch to batch. I like the Extra Gold bottling a little better. It is a touch richer in taste. Of course, the Bligh may have lost a little opened on the shelf for 3 months, although I protected it with gas. No matter, it will be the first one finished. This rum goes so well with coconut water that I will have a easy time emptying the Bligh. I do like the old label better.

After a futile mini-search for coconut water locally, we're awaiting delivery of some to mix with our much-loved Sunset Extra Gold. We hope that BevMo puts the St. Vincent back on sale soon, since rumdog007 seems to have left a few cases behind.

And right back off sale a few days later. What a peculiar pricing sequence.
