Deputy Director General of the Inland Revenue Department Nawaraj Bhandari told the YV that the sale of the liquors have been banned "for now" after complaints against these liquors poured in. The ban will be in place until the report of its samples is examined.

The TV quoted Kathmandu police chief Nawaraj Silwal as saying that Birbal Tamang of Sindhuli, who consumed Virgin Whisky, died in the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) this morning. Tamang had just returned from Malaysia a few days ago and had consumed the whiskey at a hotel in Balaju, police investigation show. One Tek Bahadur Bhandari has experienced visual problems after consuming Virgin Whisky. Bhandari and Thakkar Prasad Sharma have been admitted at the TUTH.
