Default tried some new rums; opinions anyone?

Bought two new rums this past weekend. Botran Reserva and Cruzan Black Strap Rum
Botran is very good. Cruzan... well it can be poured over waffles.

Never tried Botran. Agree 100% on the Black Strap. It has its fans, but I don't get it-- I don't think I've ever tried a rum that tasted so doctored-up.

My recent purchases were Zafra 21 yr (excellent, bourbon-like) and Appleton White (delicious for a white rum). Next up for purchase is Banks 5 Island rum, which I've read very good things about. (e.g. here)

I enjoy the Black Strap rum. It tastes very good mixed with coke. Doctored up? Perhaps, but there's a lot of rums out there that aren't exactly "pure" rum.

I like the blackstrap too. Not for everyday drinking mind you, but it certainly has its uses. Very tasty stuff.

Black strap makes quite a good rum cake.
