Default RhumBar Las Vegas

New to the city that never sleeps. Inside the Mirage is a new bar specifically for the tasting of rum. The menu has about 35 rums served by the shot (my "shot" was a glass of crushed ice and probably 2 1/2 - 3 ounces of rum), a menu of fairly exotic rum cocktails (my wife had a Brazilian rum punch with cachaca and muddled basil leaf). There a a couple wines and some other liquors, scotch, and cognacs, but NO BEER.

Very sterile, minimalistic decor. Looked like an operating suite of a hospital. Lots of lily-white bar and walls. Bartenders were mildly knowledgeable and nice. They make Mai-Tais like we do, and Daquiri's like Hemmingway did.

Supposedly, it is owned by someone of the Montecristo ranks, and leased by Mirage.

From what I understand that is correct - the same people that own the Fuente cigar bar inside Caesar's Palace Forum shops (Montecristo) own the rum bar in the Mirage.

I spent some time at the Rhumbar Wednesday night. Just over 40 rums on the menus along with many cocktails. Some of the more upscale rums and price are Appleton 21 $12, Appleton 30 $85, Cruzan single barrel $12, Eldorado 21 $25, Eldorado 25 $75, flor de cana Centenario 21 $18, Goslings old $17, Pyrat Cask 1623 $55. the prices did not always seem to align with the retail price for a bottle.

I hope to get there in November, if not sooner. I'm glad they are serious about their rum selection and not just collecting rums. Does the staff seem to know what they have or is all the information on the menu.

Curse you people!!! I'll be in Las Vegas next week 10/9-10/13 for the Interchange convention in Caesars. Sounds like I'll be taking a taxi to the New Bar on Sunday. I'll see if I can grab some photos

I was in this bar earlier this year. The staff was very accommodating, providing me with small samples (excluding the very high end) prior to making my choices. Also has a nice outdoor area to sip and enjoy a cigar.

I stumbled across the Rhum Bar earlier this year when walking the Vegas strip after sampling the relatively disappointing rum selection in Caesar's Palace... their sign is visible from the strip's sidewalk when passing by the Mirage.

After thinking Rum Jungle @ Mandalay Bay must be the only rum-themed bar in Vegas I had to pop in to see if Rhum Bar also lived up to its name... was pleasantly surprised to find El Dorado 25 which allowed me to stroke another off my rum bucket list.

I was the only one in the bar, the staff was friendly and the place was virtually brand new... definitely worth checking out.

I was quite disappointed during my trip to Vegas. Everything went horribly wrong like you could not believe. Never got a chance to visit the Mirage rum bar

Next time...sniff sniff.

Default Rum Jungle

Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay is also a nice venue when you are rum cruising The Strip.
