I used to drink Havana Club 7 always straight up, smooth and tasty and quite delicious.
However, after a session of shooting the breeze with a couple friends while drinking away a bottle per person last year, I threw up and canґt stand that rum anymore.

I picked up a couple of bottles this week for $12US a piece. They were in a store that was having a "Hurricane Damage Liquor & Wine Sale". I ended up buying 22 bottles of various rums before the week was out!! It is the first time I have seen Havana Club for sale here for several years, even though we're only a stones throw away from Cuba.
Looking forward to a HC7 with some ginger ale this afternoon while watching some NFL.

Hey, Rumelier, what do you think of the HC7? I don't believe that it is the mostest, complexest, etc., but i love it. I would call it smooth and friendly, AND consistant from bottle to bottle.

I think you are right. Not the best rum in the world by any means, but always a nice treat when you can get a bottle, I always snap up bottles when I can. It is fairly light in taste and body like most Cuban rums. I usually mix it with ginger ale. I had four or five glasses at Heathrow airport recently on the way back from the Rumfest which was a nice surprise and meant I got a good sleep over the Atlantic!! Hopefully future talks between Cuba and The US may one day mean we can all get to drink it on a regular basis along with the many other Cuban rums.
