As a complete novice, I think El Dorado 12 is my favorite. I am not completely decided, but I think I really like the Appleton 12 as well.

I would love to try El Dorado 15, Plantation 20, and Appleton 21. I'm not a big fan of intense oakiness though, so maybe 20+ is too long in the barrel.

I am relatively new to rums. I have always been more of a scotch/bourbon guy. However, I am spending the year in Colombia teaching English and I have really enjoyed Dictador 20 yr and Hechicera. Those 2 rums are my favorite thus far.

My experience is limited, but Mount Gay XO is my favorite so far. I want to try the 8-year Barbancourt and El Dorado 15.
