An enjoyable rum. Love the bottle and the initial taste is great. Can't have it too often though, it's too sweet, almost a cloying sweetness.

I've re-assessed the Reserva. Though I prefer the Exclusiva as a superior sipper, the Reserva is a pretty fair sipper in its own right.

We are very fortunate that we have these two rums in our Montgomery County (Maryland) liquor stores for outrageously low prices when they go on sale (which is frequently) only $13.50 for the Reserva and only $22.99 for the Reserva Exclusiva.

I had a similar attitude adjustment with this Rum. I did a 180 from initially not liking it at all, to making it a permanent member in my galley as my palate started leaning to somewhat drier Rums at times. Occasionally, the Exclusiva has struck me as being a little too sweet and I've been thinking of adding a little Reserva to it to even things out a bit next time the circumstance arises. But I love them both........and would love them even more at the prices your getting them for.

I think the description of the Reserva as a desert Rum is about right. Sooooo sticky sweet.
Try equal parts Exclusiva and orange label Reserva in a blend. I like that better than either on their own.

Agreed. I quit thinking about it and did it with excellent results. I'm tending to drink both mixed now rather than on their own.
