Ron del Barrilito Three Star! Just found it here at a local St. Pete store.

Poured some El Dorado 12 neat. Seems this over the past years has gotten less sweet, a bit dryer, and I can taste more wood. I think it's improved.

I don't drink rum and coke much, but I'm sipping a Mt. Gay Sugar Cane rum with Mexican coke and its really good.

El Dorado rum cream was on my request list, but I received ED Dark Superior rum instead. I really like ED 12 and 15 (I don't drink ED21 enough to have an opinion) but by Gawd this stuff is bad. Strictly mixer material. Really bad rum with lots of caramel. It's the cheapest rum around here, for a reason.

Got to indulge in some ideas that have been brewing since the weekend:
-a sazerac made with equal parts rye and rum. I used Sazerac Rye and Plantation Guadeloupe 1998. a winner!
-a rum old fashioned made with Sea Wynde rum. another winner!
I've been meaning to get more involved with the Sea Wynde. It's a fantastic rum - a blend of pot still Jamaican and Guyana aged rums. I've left the bottle
on the counter with my current faves. It deserves attention!

Watching the Jets and Leafs and sipping on Ron Matusalem Gran Reserva. Also lamenting that I have just three bottles of rum left on my shelf.
