Default Problem with RL Seals bottle/cork :(

I bought a bottle of RL Seals around 6 weeks ago, I've had one drink from it at the start of December.

Just fancied another and the cork snapped off as soon as I gently pulled it, tried a cork screw but the cork has rotten and crumbled so all the bits have gone into the bottle and ruined it

In a word...gutted I was really looking forward to it tonight!

Where do I stand here? I bought it from thewhiskyexchange (who have given fantastic service over the last year I must say...and I've spent a lot of money there!!) so do I email them or RL Seals direct?

£30+ bottle...and the cork failed after one drink....disappointed to put it mildly

I bought a bottle a couple of years ago and had the same thing happen. I save the corks from exhausted bottles for just such an occasion, but it's annoying just the same.

Dai is right. Simply strain it and put it in another bottle.
