This rum is available in a local store here, so I'm curious about the answer to this question, too.

I've consumed my fair share of this and while pretty flat and lifeless (in my opinion), I certainly don't ever recall a fishy taste from any of the bottles. Not sure what to make of that but it doesn't sound like a bottle I would make an effort to finish.

I agree, tried a bottle once, and it was undrinkable!

I have found it can have that fishy taste, but sometimes I notice it more than at other times. Not sure if that is variation among bottles or variation in perception.

I bought a bottle of Brugal Extra Viejo.....horrible taste seems to me the appropriate definition.
I already bought a Big Bottle of coke to make cuba libre, only way to finish it.

WRONG! You should see blackbirds and other small birds getting completely drunk in september, eating small berries at grape-picking season. This naff lord seems never have gone and see mother nature!
