Angostura 1919 - just for the sake of finishing off the bottle. At it's price, I doubt I'll replace it.

It was actually last Tuesday but I was enjoying spiced rum and coke with a wee bit of grenadine. More than a half ounce of grenadine I found was too much but the bar finally got it right. I don't really know what they're called. I read somewhere "Embolisms" but either way, I found it was a nice twist on the traditional Cuba Libre.

I bought that rum and gave it to my mother thinking I did a good thing as it was highly rated. Tried it again this summer when I went to her cottage and it's simply not for me.. nor her as it was untouched from the one year I gave it to her.
Good only for me as a sipper unfortunately.. nice perfume type bottle though.

See, I found it rather dull as a sipper. Nice mixer but not around LCBO prices. I agree on the bottle though. I'm thinking the wife might like it as a candle holder. Should look quite nice with a few candles worth of wax drippings.

On the way home from work I bought a bottle of Appleton 21 year rum and had a few drams.....oh man, soooo delicious, a definite different dimension to the 12 year. If you can find a bottle and have a C-note to blow, go for it!!
