Default Fake Bottles

Saw a report yesterday on Inside Edition about fake wine. They bought a $3,000 bottle from Park Avenue Liquors that turned out to be fake. I'm guessing this could be an issue with high end rums as well. I know I've seen plenty of fake Cuban cigars around. Buyer beware.

I'm not sure rum has made it to the "big time" yet for people to consider counterfeiting it. It would make more sense to do this with wine or cognac, whiskey, etc. That is where the market is.

The money is in wine. But fake whisky isn't going to be far behind. And then there is the market for fake cheap spirits which is flourishes more in Asia and Eastern Europe, though fake spirits have been found all over the world.

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.
