Nothing beats the refreshing nature of a home made Mojito. Just making one makes me happy

I agree, Ill probably drink beer or something & coke in a pub.

At home Ill push the boat out & use several rums / juices / etc etc.

If I'm in a bar that does good drinks Ill always chat to the bartender & make requests / take suggestions - they are usually really receptive & friendly.

For me mojitos are synonymous with being with friends - a good mojito is hard to beat

For me the Ti Punch is the perfect rum cocktail and as simple as it is it is surprisingly easy to screw up. In a bar I usually order a daiquiri unless I know the bartender or can show the bartender how to make a ti punch.

This drink isn't for everyone, but it's my first drink of the day, most days. And it's after 5, so it's Ti Punch time.

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.

Ed, the Trader Joes Passion Fruit Juice cocktail with La Favorite Ambre I saw on your company site is right up there with the T Punch for me.

For me. The cocktail I enjoy the most is the one that is in my mouth. But I also really appreciate the one that is on it's way into my mouth.

Damn . . . you stole the words right out of my mouth . . . At first i was waxing sassy and thing 'Mai-Tai' (Vic's). Then I rembered how freaking aweome a Daiquiri is and how I use it to judge every mixing run (rhum too . . I aint hating). Then thinking about that I was thinking "doggone, I love the simple, beauty of a Ti Punch, and the possible depth, etc . . ." So bhaskins for the win!
a drink with forrest . . .

No matter how good a rum might be pure, no matter what it cost, no matter how people recommend it should be enjoyed - some of that bottle is going into a glass with cola and lime!

For me, Cuba Libre is like the reference cocktail for rum. Simplicity, consistency and availability of the ingredients help of course.

Maybe one rum tastes strange in a Mai Tai but perfect in a Mojio, so a bad combination could put you off a great cocktail.

Cuba Libre therefore gets my vote, it's the old friend and it was there from the start and so far my appreciation of it has only increased as I experience more rums.

When I go to the Mai Kai I don't think there is one cocktail I don't like.
Jet Pilot
Mai Tai
Planter Punch
Pina Colada

Not a big fan of a rum and coke or a cuba libre

Cuba Libre all the way. While its not the same as it was when invented in 1900 (now sans the cocaine which was in coke at the time ) its still decent. I can't endorse a historical recreation of this original either. It is simple to make and hard to mess up. Make sure to muddle the lime shell in the bottom of the glass before adding rum and coke.
