I plan to try them all eventually. But I'm conflicted between finishing stuff off because I don't want too many bottles open, and the desire to try new things. Most of these were acquired in the last year so I haven't gotten too deep into it yet.

I've been doing some group bourbon taste tests recently, so I've got a bunch of those open. I guess I need to have friends over more often. That'd empty 'em quick. (Most people I know, though, drink wine rather than spirits.)

I am on my third approach to keeping my rum collection info at hand. I switched over to the My Bar app for iPhone recently and am having some fun with that.

http://mixologytech.com/mybar/index.html

It uses your iPhone as a barcode scanner and links you to a booze/bitters/mixers database. The information keeps growing, partially due to user input that is reviewed and edited by the My Bar people.

It's from the same people who do the Beachbum Berry Tiki + app.

David, is that a list of your booze collection propped up on the table in your photo? It looks like a menu of some sort.

Good eye! That's what the menu holder is for, although I haven't gotten around to designing the actual menu yet. The room is decorated in a Tiki-bar motif (most of which you can't see most of it in this photo). So my idea was to make a list of cocktails, rums, etc. to display.

I have MyBar on my phone and started entering bottles quite a while back. I've found that I prefer having a spreadsheet on my computer, though.

I had that problem for a while. Currently I'm almost exclusively into rum, but before, I had all the stuff, gin, vodka, whisky, liqueur, you name it, and my collection was approaching 100 bottles. I used to open the bottle to taste it, and then it would stay open for a while. Getting more knowledge about spirits, I realized that they don't last forever once opened, and I got into finishing all open bottles. It took me easily over a year, but now I've got only a few non-rum bottles, and as for rum I only keep one mixer and one sipper open at all times, exception made when I organize tasting sessions (all in the name of research, for sure).

Here are the El Dorados. (The lights in my bar are funky, which is why the quality of these photos isn't great.)

Hey Aerozep!

Looks like you have some exotic stuff there! Any chance you can post a list?
I am not able to read the labels from your photo, but the bottles I can recognize suggest you have some rare rums.

Thanks! Terrific collection!

Coruba 25, for example... I have not seen that one before.

Cheers!
