Default Barbancourt White Rhum

Has anyone tried Barbancourt White in a T Punch?

Yes, but not for a long time. . . Guess I now know what tonight's drink will be.

Oddly you hardly see Barbancourt white in Haiti. Don't know why.

I haven't had it in a Ti Punch in ages. I think you'll find it works but will be on the light side.

The fact that there are other less expensive white rums in Haiti is one reason you don't see Barbancourt White widely distributed in Haiti. As for a ti punch, I prefer rhum agricole, but I'm spoiled having spent so much time in the French West Indies.

I agree with Ed, Ti punch is IMHO best with an agricole white.
The difference is in the glass and also in the nose. Of course other good rums can do the job (ESA or SLR are fine)..

If you want to drink rum in Haiti, ask for "clairin' but beware, it is most of time "home made" and very strong... much cheaper than Barbancourt, which is mostly for export. It is possible in France (elsewhere also probably) to buy another white haitian rum, sold in the "fair trade" shops, it is partly made by Barbancourt and I find it harsher than the B. white.
