So, I've decided that the little "Dood" on RumDood.com needs updating to be more "rummy". The original artist has declined to do the work, citing workload, so I've sought the services of Craig Museck (http://drbamboo.blogspot.com) to create a new one. I've got 4 sketches back, the most recent one being the closest to what I was originally seeking, but I've been vacillating on whether I want to try to stay closer to the original (like the most recent sketch) or go with something "more welcoming" as it has been suggested to me the first sketch is. So if you have the time, please let me know what your thoughts are.

Oh, and I know the first three sketches have martini glasses, but any final image would probably have the tiki mug like the 4th sketch.

Sketches--

Number one looks a bit like a kid's cartoon character and you don't want to be accused of appealing to youngsters like Joe Camel. Number two looks like Doggy Daddy from the old Auggie Doggie cartoon -- again a kid's feature. Number three looks like BooBoo from QuickDraw McGraw.

Your artist was heavily influenced by watching cartoons as a kid.

Number 4 is unique, has personality and looks like he can hold his liquor.

That makes it a clean sweep so far. And, he already has the proper glass.

I like the looks of numero uno et numero tre as they are happy doods. #One looks like he has a middle aged girth ready for the good timers. Number 2 looks like Jiminey Cricket and 4 looks like a cross between a panther and a rhino.

I'm waiting on the final delivery. I'm very happy with the JPEG I've received and am just waiting on the last few touches.

BooBoo, by the way, was from Yogi Bear, not Quick Draw McGraw. His mexican sidekick was Baba-Looey.

I liked #3. #4 looked "condescending and opportunist" rather than "welcoming" IMHO

I stand corrected. You are correct sir. BooBoo was always following Yogi Bear around, Baba-Looey was chasing the stagecoach in the end.

RumDood's avatar has it's own character -- comparable to Joe Camel.
