I'd very much like to get hold of this but it seems to be unavailable in Norway. Does anyone know if it might be available in UK/Swedish/Danish online shops?

Unfortunately, it is only available in the US at this time.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the answer. I suppose it's possible to find maybe another brand or something from a french webshop......but my french isn't even good enough to read menus........ I'm not giving up easily :)

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but not all sugar cane syrups are created equally. What you are looking for is Sirop de Canne from Martinique, preferably from Dubois, the syrup marketed by Dillon or Depaz is closer to molasses than golden sugar cane syrup.

I think I found something but I wouldn't know if it's the propper thing or the one closer to molasses as you say. This isn't easy :)
Is this one alright? : http://www.thedrinkshop.com/products/nlpdetail.php?prodid=3771

It looks like it is..but check first if they really ship to Norway because they don`t ship to Sweden. At least not for the moment as they are looking for a new carrier.

I've looked all over and it's not easy to find sugar cane syrup from Martinique. However, it looks a cane syrup from La Mauny is for sale through Royal Mile Whiskies. Would anyone know if it's alright for a Ti-Punch?

I had the opportunity last year to taste different french cane syrups last year.
Ed is correct they are not created equal. I had 2 from Guadaloupe that were very rich, like molasses. The Depaz syrup had a strong molasses flavor also.
I am very fortunate to have Petite Canne. I might try the Le Mauny, in leiu of the others.

If you do try the one from La Mauny then I'd love to hear your impressions of it :)
Cheers!

Christain, i`m also on the look out for one of these syrups and if i find something i´ll let you know. And if you need any help with reading the French somewhere just ask me.
When i hopefully go to London in october i´ll also try to see if i can find it there, and i can always pick up a bottle or two for you, these at least wouldn`t be confiscated if i send them.

I've tried the La Mauny Cane Syrup - it's the only one I've been able to find in London - and it's very nice. The taste is similar to clear honey, but as there are probably more types of clear honey than there are types of rum, that's not very helpful. And I can't compare it to any other cane syrups as I haven't tried any.:(

If you can get that one it is the same as Petite Canne Syrup, made by the same company in Martinique, though the ad says it is made by Clement it is made by another company for Clement.

The Trois Rivieres used to be bottled by GP Dormoy for Trois Rivieres and is essentially the same as Petite Canne Sugar Cane Syrup.

So the Trois Rivières, Clèment Sirop de Antillais and Petit Canne are all basically the same syrup?
I just ordered some cane syrup from a company in the US. They are called Coffee Authority and have a large selection of syrups. The one I ordered was 'Routin 1883' brand cane syrup; all natural ingredients. The picture of it shows it to be mostly clear. I'm hoping this will be close to petite cane syrup Ed mentioned earlier in this post.
I have also ordered Depaz as a comparison.

'Routin 1883' is a good brand, i used to have their vanilla syrup. These syrups are also sold in the UK.
