Mine is cigar 'AFICIONADO'. I know the magazine probably only consists on 10-15% Cigar Related articles. But I love reading their articles on Golf, Cars and Wine. The problem with Cigar Aficionado is that it's been around since 92'. I have every issue. The early years 'CIGAR' aficionado had a lot of Cigar related articles. But how many times can you write about Pinar del Rio or Litle Havana. I have friends that are newbies they seem to love Cigar Magazine (it's good). They dislike Cigar Aficionado because of the lack of Cigar related articles. I quickly remind them that the articles that Cigar Magazine writes about have already been published 2 or 3 times in Cigar Aficionado.

I read all publications with a grain of salt. Just by reading Cigar Aficionado you can tell they have their favorites. So-It makes you question Ratings. Cigar Magainze on the other hand is owned by the largest Cigar Company in the world, Altadis. I do not know how serious I could let's say read a magazine about cars if Ford published it. Smoke is a decent magazine. I find myself finding the articles short and sweet. Euopean Cult is a great magazine but-hard to get the States.

ECCJ comes out top for me as it concentrates most on cigars and smoking:)

I read them all, but you can't beat the European version for being filled with
Cigar info. I like certain things about them all, but have gotten my best tips on cigar flavors from CA and the ECCJ.

In the mid 1990's I used to subscribe to CA and Smoke and they were both great but then CA started going more for articles about hand made shoes and private jets and less about cigars. Russia also has a good one printed in English called Cigar Czar I think...I was given a few back issues last year by Mitch at Cgarsltd here in the UK;)

I enjoy reading James Sucklings blog as it typically deals with Cuba. As for cigar magazines, I do not subscribe to any of them but I have bought several issues in the past from CA, Smoke and ECCJ.

James Suckling is blogging from Cuba right now. He is there for the Havana Festival. There is going to be some video posted.

I've heard great things about the European Cigar Cult Journal, but have only read one issue.

Most of the others have glaring faults.

Cigar-Altadis pimp journal

cA- Advertising extraordinaire

Smoke-reviewers are much less inclined to criticize a cigar

The periodical I find most helpful is cA's Cigar Insider. They concentrate on new releases

I subscribe to CA for the interesting articles and sometimes a good tip on a cigar. Taking a look at $65,000 watches is also a giggle. I always show my wife what I want for my birthday ;)

I just subscribed to Smoke Mag from recommendations from others. Think it will be interesting to compare to CA.

As far as online sources I like Club Stogie, Stogie Guys and Cigar Jack.

I came across this cigar e-zine (http://www.cigarreportdaily.com/column/6/14932.html) with an article about rum and cigars.

My pleasure Hank... WE are in the process here of ending a dinner party... I have gathered our friends around to view this forum...Whilst we break out the Ron Barcelo Imperial and a box of Habano's Cohiba Esplendios.

The tree frogs are singing. the night jasmine is blooming, and the milky way galaxy is in plain sight of the naked eye....Simple pleasures.

I just received my first Smoke Magazine and have to say it's a winner. It has less fluff than CF and great cigar related articles and reviews. Now, I have to consider my renewal of AF...

I agree. The current issues of Cigar Mag and Smoke were excellent. Lots of info on the world of cigars! Can you believe it? Cigar magazines that concentrate on cigars, spirits and related issues. I applied for Cigar Press, no word yet. CA Mag Produces good info on cigars, and I have always found most of thier ratings to be very good. I have tried and liked a number of cigars from those ratings. It is just a shame that they devote so much of thier mag to the pursuits of the elite. Lately, there has been much space devoted to golf. I thought they were becoming a golf mag. European Cigar Cult Journal is another mag I like. Filled with great cigar info from the European perspective.
