View Full Version : Avatars?
Any chance of letting us upload our own avatars?
If you are concerned about the vertical space they take up you could use the classic postbit template and put the username and avatar to the left of each post.
You could always make it part of a supporting member program if the bandwidth is a concern.

Good suggestion, it's coming. Bandwidth shouldn't be a problem at this point but time certainly has been something of which I am short.

You should be able to upload your personal avatar now. Presently you can use a 100 x 100 pixel avatar. Be creative, but please respect trademarks and copyrights and don't use registered labels from the internet.

Avatars have disappeared? When I load a page instead of the avatars I see a text saying "Edward Hamilton's Avatar" for example. Is it just me or are everybody else getting this as well?

I get them fine - but they're probably in my browser's cache.
So I tried IE, emptied the cache, and I get what you see. "Ed Hamilton's Avatar" and so on.

Same thing here.

You might notice that your avatar is missing. I'm not sure why but they got lost in the latest update which was completed over the weekend. I did back up the database and all of the forum files so it will be a matter of finding them and then reloading them in the new version of this software. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It looks like re-uploading the avatar will work, too, thus saving Ed a decent amount of work. I can now see my avatar and Dood's.

Thanks guys, I'm not a software engineer and missed the avatar file when I uploaded the new software version which I needed in order to use the Google Map feature that I installed yesterday.

I found the custom avatar file, /customavatars/ by checking the properties of an avatar, pretty simple stuff. I uploaded the old custom avatar file, so if you changed your avatar you'll have to reload it. Sorry about that.
