I haven`t yet been able to try the Creole Shrubb but i get more and more curious about how it tastes.
I keep on wondering how Creole Shrubb would do in a Mai Tai unless its too sweet but that could maybe be balanced by adding some bitters? Then it would of course no longer be a Mai Tai but a variation..that would probably be very tasty!

The Creole is excellent but to my mind doesn't have enough 'poke' to carry a Mai Tai. Bearing in mind we're rather spoilt by having tasted the dwindling original rum.

Everything else is frankly just not quite as good :(

I've often wondered about using this fine spirit, replacing the Cointreau in a "Rum Sidecar" but haven't found the commitment to find the right rum to go with it...

This is very nice stuff, though a bit over the top for sweetness. I love sweetness, so I do love this, but others might wish to go easy on it.

What would be good to use to mix with it if its so sweet?

I see the Creole Shrubb as a fine drink on the rocks. It's not an orange flavor as pronounced as Cointreau or Santa Teresa Orange Rum Liqueur. It's not exactly subtle orange, but not a bright orange.

I like putting my Creole Shrubb to use in a Rum Manhattan along side Prichards Fine rum, and a dash of that bitter stuff.
