I saw this recipe in another thread..it looks very interesting.
But what exactly is the Xocolatl Mole Bitters? it sounds to me like bitters made out of a Mole sauce..or is it something readymade you buy? where do you find it?

Neisson Negroni

1 oz Neisson Reserve
1 oz Campari
3/4 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth
1 dash Xocolatl Mole Bitters
Stir and serve up in a cocktail glass
Garnish with a fresh wide orange peel

If I remember correctly, Xocolatl is the Nahua (Aztec) word for raw Cacao. From this we get Chocolate.

My mistake. Xocol = bitter. Atl = water. The bitter drink made from cacao. In Pre-Colombian culture this was reserved for priests. This is understandable since the raw cacao has properties similar to cocaine.

Cacao was also used for money. This lead to a big mistake which changed world history.

A pity is not possible to find these bitters..they seem to be something quite different from the rest.
What about something called "Squirrel Nut Bitters"?
Definetily something I would like to try along with the Xocolatl Mole Bitters.
So its to try to visit one of these bars that has them to sample a taste..for now.

You might be mistaking Squirrel Nut Bitters for a candy named Squirrel Nut Zippers (http://www.oldtimecandy.com/squirrel-nut-zippers.htm) which is popular in southern states, also the name of a really good band (http://www.snzippers.com).

Then, there's Squirrel Nut Butters (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41SKYPR41NL._AA280_PIbundle-2,TopRight,0,0_AA280_SH20_.jpg) which is made from squirrel's nuts; Fat Squirrel Nut Brown Ale from Wisconsin which it flavored with squirrel's nuts; the Nut and Squirrel Pub (http://www.nutandsquirrel.co.uk/) located in the welcoming town of Nailstone in Warwickshire, near Milton Keynes, England.

Caterpillar Jones and the Adventures of Nut E. Squirrel (http://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=63-9780971877405-4) is a captivating story about how one squirrel battles with weight issues, and finds himself having to change his habit of drinking too much rum in order to save his home and his job as mayor.

Update: yes, I know there really are Squirrel Nut Bitters (http://www.bittermens.com/) made by Bittermen.
