Doing a bit of research on other websites, I see that I'm in renowned company here. Quite a few rum experts.

Anyway, my wife and I have been talking for a while about a trip to the Caribbean, and next spring may be the time we can make it happen. We'll be heading to Trinidad, likely. From there, I'd very much like to get to Guyana, by boat if possible. Are there regularly running ferries?

What should one expect to pay for hotel rooms in Port of Spain, and in Georgetown? And are their hostels or bed and breakfasts that are a good option?

Cheers. Thanks for the help.

There are, as far as I know, no ferries from Trinidad to Guyana - you would have to fly. Hotel rooms in Georgetown range from very cheap to very expensive. The newest, and most expensive, hotel is Buddy's, right next to the new Guyana National Stadium at Providence, East Bank Demerara. This is probably where the West Indies and Sri Lanka teams will be staying during the Test Match next March (22nd - 26th). Incidentally, this is very near to the DDL Distillery at Diamond.
