Not sure if this thread is still monitored by Carl, but if so did you have anything to do with Lemon Hart 151? I was under the impression that basically all demerara rum comes from the same distillery. If this is the case can you provide some insight into the future (if any) of this product? My understanding is that it is no longer produced, but that in the world of classic tiki drinks it is called for and there is not a good direct substitute. Thanks for any info.

I'm not Carl, but he previously gave some information with respect to this topic. Although DDL supplied the rum for the Lemon Hart Demerara line, LH was a separate company. It was recently sold by Pernod Ricard to a Canadian company which will no longer offer Lemon Hart Demerara 151.
The more pertinent question might be whether DDL intends to market a dark 151 similar to the LH offering. It would have an immediate market in the burgeoning Tiki world and among those cocktailians, oneself included, who found LH 151 an indispensible float.
Does DDl have plans to offer such an overproof Carl? Your response would be most welcome. glass.gif
