Much to my surprise, I came to work today and discovered that we'd purchased Myers's White Rum (I wasn't even aware that this product existed).

Anyone tried it? Any comments? I've never been a fan of their dark rum, it just doesn't taste good to me straight, which I believe that all rums should, first and foremost.

Perhaps they just want a piece of the Appleton market?

I had a bottle of Myers's White a few years ago...since I don't remember much about it, it obviously didn't make much of an impression on me. Not many recipes call for a Jamaican white. (BTW, I agree with your opinion of Myers's Dark.)

It's not that bad...I think it has its purpose in mixed drinks. Agree that it not a straight rum option.

When I am not being a rum snob....I actually enjoy Myers's Dark. You can get it at most places and it tastes better than Bacardi. Mixed with Coke and it works for me.

BTW...you can get the Myers's White for less than $10 up here in PA. Not a bad deal!!!
