We got back from Tulum on Saturday, and I want to go back just to hang out at this bar some more! He's on the East side of 307 about a block from the end of the pueblo proper.

Giuseppe, the owner, just opened the place about a month ago. Right now, he has some Cohibas (not up on my cigar stuff- the half-length Churchills, I think) and Montecristo cigarillos, but he's waiting on a shipment of more.

He had a full complement of Havana Club rums, as well as a tiny bit of Ron Legendario. I'm sure he'll get more Havana Club (we nearly drank it all), but the Legendario sounded iffy- he said he couldn't find it outside of Cuba. He had some other rums, but nothing that special.

He makes free basic pizzas, and has a leg of prosciutto in the fridge that made me drool- no idea what it's for though!

He also makes great mixed drinks. I had a strawberry-balsamic frou-frou drink that was amazing, and he took my ginger beer recipe when I told him I had one.

That sounds like a great place to spend a weeks some time when you've got a few days off.

I don't think they were that bad there- we had a Cohiba Robusto (Tom is here to fill me in on the cigar stuff now), a Hemingway Daiquiri, the strawberry-balsamic drink, a barrel-proof Havana club, a Legendario, plus 6 Havana Club 7 Anos and our total was still only $60.

Be sure to go up to Akumal to Lucy's Too- it was one of the best meals of the trip. The other was the tamale guy at Gemini and 307 by the Oxxo. He usually gets there around 7 or 8.
