Its gonna be a good time. I've never had cachaca and am warming up to the tasting. The 1st round will be straight for me, then in a cocktail. Heck even my wife is getting into it and suggesting cocktails.

It looks like I'll be in LA for this chat and will have a live video feed to accompany the Leblon chat. But we'd all like to see you as well so I'm going to have a page where you can upload your pictures of where you are and what you're up to while we chat.

Don't worry about your photography skills while you're enjoying some sugar cane spirits you'll be able to upload pictures for a week. So plan on taking some pictures if you can. We'd all love to see where you are and what you're doing while we share our thoughts on Leblon.

I was surprised at the wide geographic area represented in the last chat and was jealous of our friends in warmer climes while I had to wore long sleeves and long pants, and I was in a heated apartment.

The Leblon Caipirinha
Leblon Cachaзa

2 oz. Leblon Cachaзa
1/2 Lime
2 tsp Superfine sugar or 1 oz Simple Syrup*
Glass-Rocks
Cut the lime into four wedges. Muddle the lime and sugar in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and add Leblon Cachaзa. Shake vigorously. Serve in a rocks glass. Garnish with a slice of lime.
*1 packet of Splenda or Equal can be used in place of superfine sugar.

The Blood Orange Caipirinha
Leblon Cachaзa

2 oz. Leblon Cachaзa
1 Blood Orange
1/4 Lime
1 tsp Superfine sugar or Ѕ oz Simple Syrup
Glass-Rocks
Cut the lime into two wedges. Cut the blood orange into equal parts. Muddle the lime, blood orange and sugar in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and add Leblon Cachaзa. Shake vigorously. Serve in a rocks glass. Garnish with a blood orange slice.


Both of these recipes I got from the Leblon internet site, they also have a watermelon recipe as well but I haven't been able to find watermelon yet.

I've been busy today testing the audio and video feed for the upcoming Leblon Cacahaзa chat. Only registered members will be able to participate in the chat so if you're not already registered now is a good time to do it.

Yes (picture celebration dance), my super market delivered and they just brought in a bunch of watermelon. I'll post that watermelon recipe when I get a minute or two. Im looking forward to the blood oranges Mistahunter, hope I can keep my reserve until wed.:D

I was a bit concerned about the video quality, apparently live is better than the archives.

I'm looking to improve the production and user interface for the future.
