Hi everyone,

A friend of mine is going to Orlando for a few days, flying to Mexico for several weeks, and then going back home via Orlando.

Question 1: Any chance of Finding Appleton 30 in Orlando, if so where?

Question 2: Any Suggestions for Rum (or American Rye Whisky) which might be available there, but not here?

My buddy is actually a Missionary who travels to all sorts of places I never would.

Chip, Hank Koestner is a great resource for the Orlando rum scene. Nice guy, too!

I never actually asked him, but I suspect it is near Cancun.

well if you want mexican rum,
for mocambo he would have to vist a liverpool store(large department store) they are the only ones that sell mocambo outside fo veracruz really.
soemting that can be found farily easily especially if he near the qui roo/ yucatan border would be dґaristi ron from the yucatan it should eb avaible around cancun.
if it can be found xtabetnъn might be worth trying. the same comp that produces dґaristi produces it.

Arctic, listen to this idea. Email Forrest and see if they will ship Appleton 30YO to your friends hotel! You buy and ship, he recieves and brings back.yay.gif

An excellent suggestion!

And I have an even better address to send the rum. I have a friend who goes to Phoenix regularly to visit his parents!

Thanks RonJames!!

No worries Arctic, us ice vein northeners need to stick together, if for nothing else than to avoid frost bite.

If he is in the Cancun area, one of the best places to shop is La Europea. There are several locations around Cancun. A very good selection and very good prices. Avoid the small places unless you feel your haggling skill are very, very good.

If you can muddle through the language barrier, there is a very helpful online search feature:

http://laeuropeatiendavirtual.com.mx/europea/ce/catalogo.aspx?id=8

(use the drop down menu under "Linea" to go to "Ron")
This will give you their current sale prices. Multiply by .074 to get an aproximate USD equivalent.

i will respectively diagree on this store if one is looking for rums from mexico. I do nto know the ones in cancun, but i do go the europea in mexico enough to say the selction of national rums in basicually non existant if you watn tequila outside of jalissco or mezcal outside of oaxaca it is the palce to go but walmart sells dґaristi rum in merida and probably in playa del carmen as well. in short other store may have better slection of national rums.
