My godfather just got back from St. Lucia and he brought me a bottle of sippin' rum. The bottle had no label just puff paint and it had real banana slices in it. It had a vanilla banana flavor to it and now I'm hooked. Does anyone know what it is or where I can import a few bottles? Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forums Harpincoop. What you're grandfather brought you can't be imported since it wouldn't pass the FDA regulations and since it doesn't have a label I can only tell you that it is 'spice,' the name for local rum flavored with fruit and spice. More than likely there is also some cinnamon and other spice in there as well as the fresh banana.

In the 1970s sugar cane was replaced by bananas in St Lucia and a number of other islands. Today there is only a small amount of cane being grown on St Lucia.

It seems like you know alot about these "Spices" from your other posts I've read. How can I make this here? It was just like bananas foster in a drink. It was vanilla, maybe brown sugar, and banana flavor. I'd love to have it again but flying to St Lucia to get a bottle of rum might not go over with the wife. Any help would be great. Thanks
