Cruzan Black Cherry

During Labor Day Weekend, the wife and I wandered down to a local hotel bar (the bar at the Hotel Menage in Anaheim) to see what the new place was like (it's been converted from a Holiday Inn into some sort of trying-to-be ultra-swanky trendy place).

Anyway, we noticed that they had a shiny new bottle of Cruzan Black Cherry, and being curious, we asked what kind of drink the bartender recommended with that. He made us each a Black Cherry Mojito. It was very good...much better than I had been expecting - not too sweet, not too strong. Good flavor balance to it, and very refreshing - especially with the awful heat.

I think I may have to pick up a bottle for our next party.

I was a little surprised to see Black Cherry rum, cherries aren't in great abundance in the islands. Glad you liked it, I look forward to tasting Cruzan Black Cherry rum.

My wife came home with a bottle of the Cruzan Black Cherry. She knows I love Cherries and I love rum so she thought I might like it. It was very good. I read the comments about the Black Cherry Mojito and am intrigued. Do you by chance have the recipe?????

This rum is quite amazing as a mixer with Coca Cola if you like black cherries or black cherry soda (which I do). I've taken this rum to a few parties and each time the bottle was emptied far sooner than any other.

I was soooo close to picking up a bottle of this last night, and now I am kicking myself for not doing so. Ah well, gives me another excuse to head back to the liquor store, I suppose.

This is an old post, but I'd love the mojito recipe as well. May have to come up with that on our own, though. Not that that is a bad thing. :)
